Nuget upgrade from 7.4.3 to 7.5.x.
First run of site shows black screen with Umbraco logo and the daily greeting, nothing else.
Using Chrome Tools, set the login div display style attribute to "inline" to show the login boxes and continue normally.
After this, the problem has not reappeared.
The above happened to me upgrading from 7.4.3 to 7.5.0 but did NOT happen when upgrading from 7.5.0 to 7.5.2.
The problem seems to be in ~/umbraco/Views/common/dialogs/login.html
On line 6:
<div ng-show="view == 'login'">
The variable view is undefined.
As a workaround, I changed it to:
<div ng-show="view == 'login' || !view">
I finally was able to get a hold of a site with this problem. Turns out that just updating the version in ClientDependency.config was enough to bust the cache of the login screen and fix the issue.
I've moved the updating of the CDF version to happen before we redirect to the login screen to fix this for new upgrades: https://github.com/umbraco/Umbraco-CMS/pull/1461
no-brainer, looks good, merged
Got this issue after upgrading to 7.5.4 Try updating the version in ClientDependency.config and updating "~/umbraco/Views/common/dialogs/login.html" as above and neither worked
Backwards Compatible: True
