U4-9403 - Document Type - Allow content in the root not working properly

Created by Ricardo Marcelino 18 Jan 2017, 16:03:53 Updated by Sebastiaan Janssen 18 Jan 2017, 16:23:52

Duplicates: U4-8424

I've confirmed this bug in a website that was upgraded from older Umbraco 7 versions to 7.5.7, and on a clean install of Umbraco 7.5.7. I created 2 Document Types, and i have not set the "Yes - allow content of this type in the root" field in both of them.

I expected no options for content, when creating on the root of the site, but instead i had the option to create content based on the 2 Document Types! If i set the field "Yes - allow content of this type in the root" to true, on one of the Document Types, when creating on the root, i only have that one option for creating content.

So basically, when no Document Type is set to be allowed to be created on the root of the site, every Document Type ends up being allowed. If one is in fact allowed, only that one is shown when creating content.

I hope i was clear enough, Best Regards, Ricardo

Hi there! Yes! Loud and clear, thanks for the report. This is expected behavior at the moment to maintain backwards compatibility, see U4-158 for a longer explanation.
