What did you do?

  • In an RTE, select the media button to insert an image
  • Enter a search term in the search box to filter image results
  • Select image I wanted (a check icon appears on the image)
  • Select Submit

'''What did you expect to happen?'''

After selecting an image, I should have been shown the summary view where I can edit the focus point of the image and add Alternate Text. Then I can Submit and see the image in the RTE.

'''What actually happened?'''

After selecting the image, a check appeared on the image and I'm unable to modify focus or alternate text. Clicking submit adds "nothing.jpg" to the RTE.

Note that this only happens in the RTE and not in other datatypes that use the media picker. Searching works fine for those.

My current workaround is to do the image search but instead of selecting the image, click the image title. This shows the image's location within the Media folder so you can then click up one folder and search for the image manually.

This PR includes a couple of other bug fixes I found along the way when fixing this.

  • Media picker SVG preview when searching do not work
  • Media picker with setting “disable folder select” turned on cannot select images when searching

How to test

  • RTE ** Add an RTE to a document type ** Click insert image in RTE ** Make sure you can select an image from “normal” list and when searching
  • Media picker ** Add media picker with setting “disable folder select” turned on ** Open media picker property editor and make sure you can select images both in “normal” list and when searching ** make sure that preview of SVG works. In “normal” list and when searching.
